The Gas Valve Cooktop is an OEM part for Bosch cooktops. This valve is responsible for controlling the flow of gas to the burners on the cooktop. It opens and closes to allow gas to pass through when a burner is turned on and stops the flow of gas when the burner is turned off.
Causes of a bad gas valve can include wear and tear over time, issues with the valve mechanism such as stuck or blocked components, or damage from exposure to moisture or impact.

Bought a Thermador PRSE48" dual fuel range from Craigslist really cheap because it didn't work. Did a little research and decided to overhaul most of the top (gas) end. Be careful not to tighten or twist the small hex nut in the knob cylinder/housing with force. there is a very small plastic set tab that can be broken off easily. how do I know? The orientation of the switch "box" is horizontal instead of vertical. otherwise, this replacement part # works as expected. I couldn't get the switch to attach plate removed, and the switch removed, without removing the entire cooktop and removing the top glass burner cover. Not difficult, but time-consuming. Read more
