This is a replacement control panel button for your microwave. It is made of black plastic and is less than half an inch in diameter. This button is sold individually. The button makes contact with a control switch when you push it. If the button is not responding, or if it is cracked or damaged, it may need to be replaced. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

I unplugged the oven and left it installed over the range, removed the screws for the bottom plate, unplugged the cable for the bottom lamp and the turn table motor. Two screws removed the motor and the mount from the bottom of the oven. The new motor and mount replacement parts in the kit were installed easily by replacing the two mounting screws. Reassembly was the reverse of disassembly. Read more

I used long needle nose pliers to pull out the remaining flexible switch cover. `````````````````I then used a screwdriver to push the replacement cover into hole to cover push button. Repair completed. Read more

If you search for this issue online, you’ll see this is caused by a faulty door switch - the primary interlock micro switch (with the red button). This switch is at the lowest position in the bracket that holds the switches. The hardest part for me was pulling the cover off. Two screws on one side of the black cover, one on the other side and several screws in back. The cover slides back. The switches are clearly visible on the right hand side.
