My dryer lint filter was clogged beyond regular cleaning due to its age. After 15 years of daily use it was time to replace. In.the process of determining why the dryer was taking so long to dry loads, I noticed the filter housing gasket had torn off somehow which allow a lot of lint to pass through into the dryers main housing. This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

Removed and replaced start switch then motor, no joy. removed the timer for disassembly, found bad contact. soldered contact to the spring tab and assembled and installed the timer. All good now. Read more

It was a relatively easy fix - if you know how to take the dryer apart. If you don't, there are plenty of YouTube videos explaining how. Make sure you find your model. Since the wheel had separated from the nut, it wasn't quite as easy and holding the shaft and loosening the wheel. I had to remove (destroy) the wheel first.
