You will need a Philips screwdriver, nut driver, and star drivers for this repair. Cordless drill recommended. TURN OFF THE CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE STARTING!!! You'll need to disassemble the cord cap before pulling the unit. Take a picture to remember which wires are connected to which terminals. Placed a blanket on the floor for protection and mobility. Followed the instructions that came with the replacement part: made sure stove top was unpowered, unscrewed the old housing from the stove top, cut the wires, stripped some insulation off, attached the new wires with the (accompanying) wire nuts, attached new housing to stove top. Read more

This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

Turned off power supply. Removed two screws (near the oven door) holding the ceramic top. Slid the top forward, disengaged the two power supply cables, and removed one ground wire. Removed range top, and put on a flat surface. Unclamped two power supply wires, one ground wire and one thermocouple wire from the element. DIY. The delivery to Milwaukee took two days. The project was very easy and took about 1hr. The only tools required were a screw driver (electric) and a pliers. Just make sure your irganized with the screws so you don't lose any or mix up which ones go back in which holes. There's about 20 total screws. I had the choice of spending $2K on another double oven stove or $60 on two elements.
