This assembly includes the gas valve and connecting pipe that control the flow of gas to the dryer's burner. It regulates when gas is delivered to the igniter and burner tube during the heating cycle. Replace this assembly if your gas dryer is not heating, heats intermittently, or if the gas valve fails to open properly during operation.

The video was quite helpful with step by step instructions. I ordered a belt and idler pulley before dismantling assuming they were the issues. Belt was easy and fit fine but I did not realize the idler pulley was secured with a special fastener, push on cap nut, that would be damaged if removed. So I left it in place. Upon examination of the dryer, I noticed that the belt was intact, though a little worn and hard. However, I noticed that the belt had came of the idler pulley. So I put it back on and had the owners try it out on their next load of wash. It, once again failed to keep the drum turning. So I ordered a new belt and idler pulley (order # 8676164).
