Igniter Sensor
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 6501EL3001A

The Igniter Sensor is an OEM part for LG dryers. This sensor plays a critical role in the ignition process, ensuring that the gas ignites properly to produce the heat necessary for drying clothes efficiently. It helps monitor and regulate the ignition temperature.

Over time, the igniter sensor can become faulty due to regular use, exposure to high temperatures, or electrical issues. These factors can lead to a malfunction, resulting in the dryer not heating properly or failing to start.

Symptoms of a bad igniter sensor include:

  • Dryer not heating up
  • Long drying times
  • Dryer not starting
  • Unusual smells or noises during operation

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer started gas line good won't heat early model no codes   Timothy M. • Roaring Spring , PA • November 25, 2016

Used video and took apart dru, this was extremely helpful. I bypassed the belt and door switch. Tested gas valves (gas disconnected) with multimeter. Found that the igniter worked the first gas valve, but the second gas valve would not open and the igniter would stay on. Found a flow chart online that shows the flame detect turns on causing the gas to turn on and shuts off the igniter. I replaced it and tested again. Igniter turns on, shuts off, then power to the second gas valve turns... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer would start then quit after about 5 seconds. No error codes-timer running nasal burnt smell.   Larry T. • Morristown , TN • December 10, 2017

I replaced the dryer motor. I followed the repair video on the Appliance Parts Pro site, with a few modifications to the procedure. I loosened the control panel and flipped it forward to improve access to the wiring connectors. Removal of the blower assembly required the use of penetrating lubricant as the assembly was stuck on the motor... Read more

Dryer Moisture Sensor Holder
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 4930EL2003B

This is a mounting holder or grille that secures the moisture sensor bars inside the dryer drum area. The moisture sensor detects how wet the clothes are and signals the control board to end the cycle when they're dry. Replace this holder if it is cracked, broken, or missing, which can cause the sensor bars to be misaligned and lead to clothes coming out still damp or the dryer running too long.
