The hot water softened it enough that it wrapped around the motor shaft, re-hardened, then tore into the shaft seal. Removing the door panel was easy -- remove 6 Torx screws, and the panel falls off. Next you need to remove an electrical plug and 2 individual wires from the old dispenser. The plug came right off, but the wires were not easy to access, and they fought me more than I expected. With some pliers and wiggling, they eventually let go and came free. I went on line found the PE code and started troubleshooting. I ended up ordering a new circuit board, and the half-load motor and micro-switch. It turned out, I didn't need the circuit board. Replacing the motor and micro-switch solved the problem. The repair was very simple.
