Mark K Everett , WA January 30, 2017 Appliance: Samsung Dishwasher DMT400RHS/XAA The "heavy" load light was blinking Research indicated that it may be a moisture sensor failure or a leak. It ended up being a leak from the oil seal on the motor shaft. A small piece of plastic made it's way into the system. The hot water softened it enough that it wrapped around the motor shaft, re-hardened, then tore into the shaft seal. I fixed it by replacing the shaft seal, moisture sensor (corrodes when it gets wet), and replaced the sump seal since I had it disassembled. Anthony E Chesterfield , VA February 05, 2018 Appliance: Samsung Dishwasher DMT800RHS/XAA Over level (oe) code was flashing on the display panel Based on the apparent relation to draining that I found on the internet I decided to open/unscrew the areas under the bottom rack where the water is pumped out. One obvious issue I observed was the drain check valve was turned and not functioning. It appeared to be swollen and stretched. When the new "Vane-Check" valve arrived it was not swollen and fit perfectly. I assume heat swells it up over time. I replaced three other seals while I had it apart. The one under the chopping blade was also damaged. It's been working for several days and I haven't seen the light again. My assumption is since the valve wasn't preventing backflow the water in the drain line to the disposal came back into the unit at times. Also, there was a lot of old food scum stuck in small cavities inside the pump-filter area, which may have contributed to the problem. Be careful with power screwdrivers. I accidentally poked a hole in the filter when my drill slipped and had to sew it together with nylon string. I used a small metal hooked awl to pull the seal under the chopping blade so as not to damage the plastic cavity. A socket to press the new seal by hand worked well and didn't damage the new seal. I'm going to make sure we don't leave any food on dishes because I'm confident food particles contribute to this problem. John S Christiansburg , VA May 02, 2022 Appliance: Samsung Dishwasher DMT400RHS/XAA 2009 Samsung dmt400rhs leaks water slowly into drip pan and flashes "heavy" led. The only way to find slow leaks on these models is to hoist it onto 4x4's in the middle of your kitchen and reconnect water and electric (route the drain hose into your sink). Run a normal wash cycle and watch for leaks with a flashlight. Chances are you will need to replace 1) Shaft seal, or 2) the ribbed drain hose running from the pump to the plastic manifold on the side. If the leak intensifies during drain, it's the hose. You can't see the holes that develop in the hose unless you remove & stretch it. I replaced my hose with 7/8" ID reinforced vinyl tubing from Lowe's and purchased a new shaft seal from AppliancePartsPros.com ($50). I also replaced the check valve because I've had some dirty dishes on occasion. Good as new, now. Read More...
