Notes: Only one screw hole is used now.
Although we had a service contract with Sears I elected to take a quick look to see what was wrong. There were 3 problems: 1 - retainer thumb screw had broken and appeared to have been damaged for some time showing scummy buildup along the line where the threads finally separated from the knob, 2 - after removing the lower spray arm, observed that the pump seal was visibly distended and exposed, and 3 - the 3rd level wash arm spinner disk was in the parts bag and the stainless steel sweat-fit... I cleaned all the jet nozzles with a toothpick and a pipe cleaner to remove the hard water deposits. I then replace the ring bearing under the bottom spray wand and the ring bearing under the upper spray wand. I also replaced the smaller radial ring bearing. Although none of them looked overly worn, it doesn't take much to cause the spray wands to spray inadequately. Then, I replaced the float and washer assembly. Although it appeared to work properly when I lifted up on it and let it down, it... Read more

This trash compactor is in our vacation home. We never use it and now we are selling the house. When I looked to replace it I was amazed at how expensive a new compactor would cost. I found the serial number on the current compact entered it and your web site came up. Your schematics were excellent and made the repair very easy! Read more

We had to take the clips off the side arms to remove the upper basket. Then we turned it upside down to easily access the supply tube. There was one screw that held the assembly in place. We removed that and then replaced the part and put it back together. The feed tube holder just clipped to the upper basket. Read more
This dishwasher door spring restores proper counterbalance so the door opens smoothly and doesn't drop. The premium version provides the factory-specified tension used on select models for consistent, controlled door movement.
I ordered the parts, deciding that if one spring had broken, the other one should probably be replaced at the same time. I followed the suggestion of ordering the door spring bearing given on the ordering page, and since I had not yet pulled out the dishwasher, did not know that it was not used in this older model. However, the order arrived quickly (4 days), and they are genuine Whirlpool, made in the USA, parts. The access to the sides of the dishwasher where the springs are attached... Read more
This inlet base seal is a gasket that fits between the inlet base and its mating surface. Replacing a worn seal helps maintain proper airflow through the inlet path and keeps spills and debris out of internal components.
1. To fix the leaks from around the door, I replaced the upper and lower door seals. These were purchased in a separate transcation, so they are not the parts shown here. The upper door seal worked as intended, but the lower seal would not stay in place on the lower edge of the door during a wash. Therefore I cleaned the grease and detergent off the old seal, and installed using silicone sealer/adhesive. The plastic edge pieces for the lower seal were supplied with the kit, and they installed... Read more
This felt door vent seal fits around the dishwasher's door vent to help contain steam and moisture within the inner door. Replacing a worn seal helps prevent minor leaks and condensation around the vent area during cycles.
Replaced the felt seal and door vent assembly by removing the inside panel of the door and cleaning off the old seal and replacing with the new one. The vent assembly simply snapped out and was easy to replace with the new one. No more leaks and Mother was happy. Removal of the screws required a torx screw driver and someone to hold the door open while the panel was replaced. Easy fix. Read more

I called AppliancePartsPros, talked to a technician to validate problem, ordered part. I had a great talk with the technician. Told him I have electrical engineering experience, used to fix pinball machines and that the pinballs and home appliances were the same design, i.e. inductor in series with a switch across the hot lines. After that the conversation was like two long lost cousins talking at a family barbeque! Great customer service! Read more
