I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. The dispenser drip tray catches water and ice that falls from the refrigerator's front-mounted water and ice dispenser. Replace when the tray is cracked, stained beyond cleaning, or doesn't fit properly in its slot.
Internet videos provided troubleshooting help. Verified ice maker working by shorting terminals and then verified valve was bad with ohmmeter check. Our refrigerator is over 15 years old and has been working great with only minor complaints and repairs. We noticed that our water level has been discolored from minor dripping. The refrigerator handle trim is the decorative covering that surrounds or accents the door handle area. Replace it if the trim is cracked, discolored, loose, or if it affects the handle's proper operation.
