Fix F10 error code or oven that won't heat with this control board. Manages temperature, timer, and heating modes. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
I researched online and found that it was probably one of two things wrong: the heat probe or the control board (clock). Since the probe was less expensive, I ordered that on Appliance PartsPros. It arrived SO quickly, and with the repair video I easily replaced it. BUT... it still got the F10 reading. Sigh. So I found a local appliance repairman (I didn't want to replace a more expensive item if it turned out I was wrong). He was a good one: he listened to my story, said he was sure it was the... Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. It would have been except the bottom element my wife used to replace the old element (which was fine but had been thrown out figuring the new one was new so why keep the old one) was 1" shorter in the back than the old... Protective cover for your range control panel with button markings. Replace if cracked, faded, or mounting tabs are broken. Installs over the clock assembly.
I first felt along each heating element (bake and broil) hoping to find a rough or blistered place on them. But they were both smooth with no irregular places. (replacing the elements would have been the easiest and cheapest repair. Pulled the back off the range (unplugged, of course) - checked wiring. There were no loose connections or burned wiring. I disconnected the elements and checked them with a ohmmeter (VOM) and both had continuity. Discovered that both elements used the same... Read more

First i called sears parts direct to order this part, because that is where i purchased my electric range. they had an outrageous price of $98. unbelievable to think that such a small piece of rubber could cost that much. i also called a few other parts dealers on other websites. they also had high prices. when i called appliance parts pros they cut the cost by 50%. i am not sure if i could have found a better price because i stopped there. it is exhausting and time consuming to have to compare... If your gas burners won't light or igniters aren't sparking, the spark module likely needs replacement. DIY-friendly repair, typically 10-15 minutes.
I tried swapping the cables around by putting the cables from the burners that would light onto the ones that didn't light. When I did that the problem would move. So this is how i determined that the issue was with this module and not the burners or cables. Once this new module arrived it was simple to disconnect the old one and put the cables back on the new one. I tested it (holding by breath!) and then all of the burners started. HOORAY! Read more

Oven won't light even with glowing igniter? Safety valve controls gas flow to burner. Moderately easy repair with gas line disconnect required.
My tenant thought that the oven safety valve was bad, but after some research, I found that the transfer of heat from the igniter had to be sufficient enough to cause the valve to open.Your agent confirmed this and reassured me that even if the igniter was glowing, there was a 99% chance that it wasn't getting hot enough. I ordered the igniter, and also the safety valve just in case, as we were going to be fixing this on Christmas eve, so the oven could be used for Christmas dinner. Your agent... Read more
