After removing the cover plate and un plugging the wires. Their are 4 screws that hold the housing to the door. with the housing out, I could see where the pivot rod for the ice door should have been, I then ordered a new housing and ice door seal. Taping up the hole in the freezer while waiting for parts. when the new housing arrived I transferred switches and the light from the old to new. You start by prying off the cover of the water/ice dispenser and remove the wire connectors. You then remove the 4 screws which mount the levers on the fridge, loosen but don't remove the 2 screws that hold the metal retaining covers in place. Remove and replace broken actuator and reassemble. Took less than 5 minutes. Read more
