This is a start relay device that helps the compressor motor start up and run properly in your refrigerator or freezer. It provides the initial electrical boost the compressor needs to begin its cooling cycle. Replace this part if your unit is not cooling, the compressor clicks on and off repeatedly, or you hear a buzzing sound coming from the back of the appliance.
