Garbage Disposal Gfc 520F Parts

Looked up the parts list and diagram by serial number. Found the correct part numbers and ordered 2 crisper drawers, the meat drawer and the bar that holds bottles on the bottom shelf of the door. The diagram showed endcaps needed on the bar, but that was only for if the bar was for the freezer door. Parts were a little expensive, but we're beautiful and delivered in just a few days. Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. Dropped light panel by removing two screws with socket set. Unplugged two terminals and unclipped the light socket from the base. Then just clipped the new socket onto the base, plugged the connectors onto the terminals and remounted the base. Total job was less than 15 minutes. Read more

Fridge keept building up ice in defrost drain drain in freezer. Once the drain pan filled with ice it drips into fridge compartment. After taking things apart three times to thaw it out, decided to replace defrost components - heater and temperature switch. In addition to new parts, also added a 12 gauge copper wire hook that hangs from defrost heater into the defrost drain. Watched video and gathered tools I needed. Very simple, and I’m a 72 year old woman! Took maybe 15 minutes to replace both freezer and frig hinge washers. Both doors work like new. Read more

Removed the plastic shield, then unscrewed old bulb. Screwed in new bulb. New bulb has a slightly different screw base. Looked in several stores that carry appliance bulbs and could not find any bulbs that matched the unusual screw base. Replacing the snap-in plastic shield was difficult. It might have been easier if I had taken the freezer drawer out. Read more
