I did not know how hard or easy it would be to remove the fan from the motor shaft so I removed the motor with the fan attached and then removed and replaced the fan. I can't believe that we lived with this shelf bar continually falling off for years due to a broken end cap. Easily found the replacement end cap on AppliancePartsPros for our 18 year old refrigerator. The "repair", if you can call it that, took perhaps 30 seconds -- remove old broken end cap, insert new one. Done. No more shelf bar falling off. One of life's little annoyances just went away. Had to take the back cover off. It was very tight to remove the fan that sat in the drip pan but did get it off, was able to apply the same level of cursing and got the new pan installed, installing the drain tube was a breeze. Found the parts price very reasonable. Hoping the Whirlpool redesigned the pan so I won't have to do it ever again. I was surprised at how bad the quality of their original part was. I purchased the lens cover from your on-line store. It came within the week. I was able to change the lens cover without any problems. Unfortunately, this model has the screws that you need to loosen before you can squeeze the rubber in but the gaskets fit perfectly. It took a lot more time than the video showed but that was because the video was of the pop in type. Be sure when pushing the rubber under the metal strip you make sure it actually goes in.
