I had to remove the dishwasher about 6 inches then remove the door springs and remove the door. Next was to open the cover to reach the circuit board and remove it. The new board was put in and attached the plug. and put the door back together and reinstall the door and springs. Turned the power to check that the lights came on. The door cable and pulley assembly controls the smooth opening and closing motion of your dishwasher door by managing its descent and preventing it from dropping too quickly. Located inside the door hinges, this assembly requires replacement when the door slams shut, won't stay open at various angles, or makes grinding noises during operation.
Once I located the parts involved in the factory exploded drawing I ordered a cable and spring. Then, when I had the dishwasher pulled out I saw that both cables had simply slipped off of their pulleys and that the door needed to be re-set properly into its drop-down metal studs. So now I have a spare set for any problems in the future! Very easy - two screws under the counter and pull forward. Shipping was quick and easy. First time customer. Read more
