The old Ice stripper had broken fingers. I realized that even with the new one I had to shave some of the plastic to allow the rotating arms to clear as they push out the ice. I did this very easily with a box cutter razor blade. the Compartment tray was merely a remove and snap into place. Read more

The auger gearbox shaft had a spot that was stripped of threads which prevented the auger drive from spinning the ice down the chute. I replaced the auger motor/gearbox assembly, the auger drive as it had to be cut off the shaft, and the 3 mount bolts that hold it all in place. Whole job took 30 minutes from start to finish which included cutting off the drive bracket. Read more

After reading posts on the problem I concluded that the motor and solenoid was OK because I was getting water shooting out in the water line before the water entered the freezer door. At the bottom of the door there is a quick disconnect to check the water before it goes into the freezer door.
