This is a threaded fastener used to secure panels and small assemblies on compatible appliances, restoring a tight fit and stable operation. It replaces missing or stripped screws to reduce vibration and rattling. What it does:
Transition duct connects your dryer to the wall vent exhaust system. Replace if cracked, torn, or damaged to restore proper airflow and venting.
Secures the gas valve to the dryer chassis. Replace if your mounting bracket is cracked, broken, or missing to restore proper valve alignment and stability.

The video was quite helpful with step by step instructions. I ordered a belt and idler pulley before dismantling assuming they were the issues. Belt was easy and fit fine but I did not realize the idler pulley was secured with a special fastener, push on cap nut, that would be damaged if removed. So I left it in place.
