Fixes washers that won't start, agitate, or spin. This control board manages cycles and user interface. DIY repair typically takes under 1 hour.
A service tech diagnosed the problem as the control board. He ruled out other potential problems. Estimated it would cost close to $300 to fix above the $90 service charge. I figured that I could do it myself and ordered the control board, opened up the back, removed the original board and installed the new one. Took about an hour. Washing machine is working again. Removed front panel using putty knife inserted between top lid and front panel. Plugged in and selected Drain and Spin option on front panel. Drain pump started but drive motor did not turn.
