I replaced the suspension rods -- I am NOT particularly experienced with machines of any type, so it took me longer than it might have someone else, but once I figured out what I needed to do, everything went very smoothly. The washer spins like a dream now! Read more
This main control board replaces the washer's primary electronic controller to restore cycle selection and timed operations. It re-establishes the washer's command logic so cycles start, advance, and end correctly. What it does:
I replaced the belt and the pump. It now works like it is new again! I am glad that I purchased the belt installation tool. It made replacing the belt very easy. I also purchased the Control Assembly which I did not install. It wasn't needed to repair the washer but I will keep it in case it is needed for future repairs. Of the 3 different web sites I looked at, AppliancePartsPros was the best price and the parts were at my house in 2 days. I will use AppliancePartsPros again if and when I need... Read more

Symptoms of a bad button include:
Causes may consist of cracked circuitry behind the panel from water intrusion or repeated impact. General wear reducing button sensitivity also occurs.
This GE button restores full operation for select models including those by Hotpoint, RCA, and compatible Kenmore lines.
All I had to do was remove 3, 1/4" screws from the back and take the front off. Two 5/16th screws hold the circuit board in place, remove them and press the button into the hole from the back. Replace the circuit board, slide the front back on and install the three 1/4" screws. Always unplug the washer first! Read more

Symptoms of a malfunctioning Drain Pump Inlet Hose include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
The video was very helpful. the hardest part is getting off old rusted parts. I had to use a hacksaw to remove one of the old clamps. I had to open the bottom of the washing machine to remove of the other clamp. Putting the new parts on was easy. Getting everything apart was a challenge. Putting the new parts on was an easy 5 minute job. Read more

It ensures that the correct amount of water at the desired temperature is delivered to the washing tub for optimal cleaning performance.
Causes of a bad triple water valve can include mineral deposits or debris blocking the valve, wear and tear from regular use, or electrical failures affecting the valve's solenoids. A malfunctioning valve can disrupt water flow, leading to issues with washing performance and water temperature control.
Symptoms of a bad triple water valve include:
Replaced solenoid valve. Repair summary: Turn off H/C water supply, disconnect hoses. Unscrew 3 screws rear of main panel. Slide front panel laterally then pull up to remove. Unscrew 2 screws on solenoid valve part. Disconnect spade electrical connectors and remove defective part. Insert new part and do everything I just said in reverse. It was so easy a drunken monkey could have done it. Read more
The Fabric Softener Dispenser is an OEM replacement part for GE washers. It is located on the top of the agitator. This dispenser allows for easy addition of fabric softener or other washing aids at the ideal time in the cycle. With a simple twist and pour into the reservoir, it then evenly releases the solution to condition clothes during the final rinse. Causes of a bad dispenser can include cracks or leaks allowing premature discharge into the wash drum. Mineral buildup may also clog the release nozzles. Symptoms of a bad dispenser include:
This GE OEM replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Planning to spend hundreds on a new washer and was pleased to discover the agitator coupling was the only thing wrong. Very easy repair. The only additional feature we would have liked was a softener dispenser. Located a GE model of the same genre that used the same coupler and took the leap to get the agitator and dispenser cup for this model (WJRR4170). Replaced the old agitator with new one and dispenser cup. Worked perfectly! We now have a washer with dispenser that works great and saved... Read more

Symptoms of a bad suspension rod and spring assembly include:
The Mode Shifter & Shaft Assembly is an OEM replacement part for GE washing machines. It is a mechanical component located inside the washer tub that allows for shifting between agitation, spin, and other cycles. The mode shifter and shaft assembly receive input from the control system to precisely change the operational mode at designated points in the cycle. Causes of a bad mode shifter & shaft assembly include worn out or damaged internal gears, stripped or broken shafts, or a loss of integrity in components that restrict smooth shifting between modes. Symptoms of a bad mode shifter & shaft assembly include:
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more

This shaft and tube assembly supports and drives the washer's inner basket during the spin cycle. Replacing a worn or bent assembly restores smooth rotation and helps reduce noise, vibration, and basket wobble.
After researching the problem on this site, I realized that the most likely cause was a bad bearing contained in the shaft & tube assembly. Essentially, the tub seal failed & allowed water to travel down the shaft & into the housing containing the bearing. I confirmed this by pulling the front cover off of the unit & noticed some brown water pooled directly under the shaft & tube assembly. I followed the disassembly instructions on this site & it wasn't too bad but did take some time as pretty... Read more

Symptoms of a bad shower head assembly include:
This replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
The Youtube videos made the process much easier to tear down the washing machine to replace these parts. These parts were easy to replace once the outside lid and control panel were removed. The initial component replaced was the hot/cold valve. It was leaking causing a continuous drip into the bowl. The Valve is attached to the funnel shower head asm. Best to replace all three parts at the same time or you may also create a leaking funnel shower head hose while replacing the hot/cold... Read more
