I have a 14 year old GE washing machine that had been making a lot of noise while running but had eventually just stopped flat. The agitator and spin cycle would not run. I found this site and made excellent use of all the repair videos to study about my issue. I put in my machine model number and I Immediately was able to start honing in on what my problem could be from website advice about popular repair parts, stories others had shared about their similar machine issues and watching videos,... This locking clip secures a mating part—often a control knob—onto its shaft on select laundry appliances. Replacing a worn or missing clip restores a tight fit so controls stay in place and operate as intended during use.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more

The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section. Parts cost around... Read more

A replacement pulsator (wash plate) that moves water and clothing during the wash cycle to maintain agitation and even cleaning. Installs at the tub hub and works with the factory retaining fastener to restore proper water flow. What it does
Replaced the Coupling Pulsator, and the Pulsator (short spindle in the center of the washer). The only problem that I encountered was how to remove the short spindle in the center of the washer...my fabric softer is in the center and you need to open that, grab the middle and loosen by turning left. Once that is out you will use a 7/16th socket and remove the entire agitator. Most of the videos show that you pull that straight up to remove - not the short one. There is still a screw to remove.... Read more

This tub assembly replaces a cracked or leaking wash tub to restore proper water containment and drum support for your washer, helping reduce leaks, rubbing noises, and abnormal vibration during cycles. What it does:
I ordered a new mode selector and new tub bearing. Upon disassembly, I noticed that the plastic outer tub had actually heated up around the tub bearing and tub seal area, such that the new tub seal did not fit tightly. I ordered a replacement outer tub, and reassembled all the new parts. During assembly, I installed the new tub seal upside down, but recognized it while re-watching the how-to video. I pulled the assembly back off and flipped the seal over, then reassembled it again. I also put... Read more
