This machine screw is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used in securing the burner head to the gas range top so that it can be used for cooking. If the burner head becomes loose or the screw is missing, it should be replaced. For safety reasons, the burner should not be used until this screw is replaced; the burner head could shift during cooking and lead to a fire. To start, disconnect the gas and power from the stove to prevent accidental ignition of the burner. Make sure the burners are not hot. Remove the burner grate and burner cap from the burner that is missing a screw. Install the new screw in the hole and tighten it with a screwdriver. Put the burner cap and burner grate back on the stove and reconnect the gas and power. Periodic inspection of the burner heads and all associated screws and parts on the stovetop will prevent accidents and keep the stove working correctly. This screw is a silver, metal part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in gas rangetops manufactured by General Electric and Hotpoint.
Second repair after 10 years of service - igniter had cracked and spill overs were causing the others to misfire. This was a two-step process. I took apart the cooktop to see what parts were neded. Screws were all rusted, I had to drill ome out. The burner gaskets broke during the process and needed replacement. One of the burners had deformed due to excess heat. Thanks for your help! Would recommend Appliance Parts Pros to anyone. Read more
Replaces the false bottom panel that covers the lower oven interior. Needed when the original is discolored, warped, burnt, or damaged beyond cleaning.
Replaced it with a new one. Had to remove the oven door which was straight forward. The door's a little heavy so be sure to get a good hold and have a place prepared to set the door while you replace the bottom. False bottom simply slides in and out. Reinstalling the door is a little trickier than removing it. Mine was the bottom oven so I couldn't see the hinges align with oven slots. It helped to have some guide the hinges into the slots and confirm they were correctly set. Read more
