Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven would not heat and oven light wouldn't work   Garett N. • Lubbock , TX • May 06, 2016

Tested the power to the unit by turning on the cooktop portion and saw that I had power to all of the burners. Turned the selector knob to broil and saw that the top element would heat up. I then turned off the breaker to the unit. I then decided to take out the baking element to do a continuity test. When I touched it, a 1.5 inch section fell out. Since that concluded my continuity test, I assumed I needed a baking element. After receiving the parts the NEXT DAY (amazingly great service... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken range knob   Janice E. • Kalamaozo , MI • July 01, 2015

Contacted GE for a replacement knob--and their cost was over $56 for one simple knob and shipping. Knowing that was completely unreasonable (it's a simple plastic part), I searched the web and found AppliancePartsPros. I ordered on a Thursday, and received it Friday--the next day! And it cost $20.37 for TWO knobs and shipping. Amazing. Read more

Knob
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB03T10079

The Knob is an OEM replacement part for GE ranges. It attaches to the switch stems to safely turn individual cooking zones on and off as needed. Color: white. It measures about 2 inches in diameter.

Causes of a faulty burner knob typically stem from material fatigue over extended use. Constant rotation can microscopically crack plastic where the knob attaches to the internal switch. Accumulated dirt and grime may also degrade smooth movement.

Symptoms include:

  • Loose connection to the switch impeding full activation of coils
  • Worn knobs could unexpectedly adjust settings or switch elements on/off.

This GE OEM replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Mice moved into my oven and tunneled through the insulation   Amy H. • La Monte , MO • February 24, 2016

Figured out how to take oven apart then removed all the old insulation. Throughly cleaned every thing and black taped the wire where the mice chewed on it. I ordered this insulation and didn't use the oven until it came in. Once I received it I took the oven back apart and placed the insulation in place. Every thing was precut to size. Super easy to install! Then put everything back together. Oven is good as new. Read more
