The Handle End Cap is an OEM part for GE ranges. This part plays a role in capping the ends of the range handle, allowing a seamless and aesthetically pleasing finish while also preventing injuries by covering potentially sharp edges.
Causes of a bad handle end cap include physical impact, frequent cleaning that leads to wear, or degradation due to exposure to kitchen grease and heat.

1) Opened package, 2) unwrapped end-caps, 3) broke off guide pieces with pliers, 4) inserted caps in both end of handle, 4) unscrewed 6 Phillip screws to remove oven-door fascia, 4) unscrewed two end-cap retainer bolts with nut driver to release remnants of broken end-caps, 5) re-inserted bolts back through the oven door engaging the new end-caps on each end, 6) tightened bolts while begging the new end-caps not to break, 7) positioned fascia back over the oven door, 8) restored the 6 screws to... This retainer secures the oven door hinges in place and is located at the bottom corners of the oven door frame. Replace if the oven door sags, won't stay closed properly, or if the hinges appear loose or misaligned.

Had a little trouble getting the correct part number, but with the help of Appliance Parts Pros very knowledgeable customer service. The correct part was ordered. Removed two screws to access inside panel of door. These screws also secure the door handle. Removed an additional 4 screws to completely remove the old handle.
