This float palnut is a push-on retainer that secures the dishwasher's water-level float to its stem. Keeping the float anchored helps the overfill protection work properly, supporting correct fill levels and helping prevent leaks from overfilling. What it does:
I first installed the inlet pump with no results. I then ordered a Control Switch and Float and Nut. This fixed the problem. Everything comes out so clean. I also replaced the filter which allowed me to clean debris around old filter. It is also easier to replace all these parts with the dishwasher pulled out and tilted on its side. This knob controls the rinse aid dispenser setting in your dishwasher, allowing you to adjust how much rinse aid is released during the wash cycle. Removed 8 screws that retain inner door to outer door. Removed rinse aid dispenser nut and replaced O-ring around dispenser. Also, removed 2 screws that retain the latch assembly and replaced rubber grommet around latch lever that retains soap dispenser door. Read more

I've repaired several appliances in my house by diagnosing simple problems going to AppliancePartsPro's diagram's, ordering the part and installing myself. Never had any problems. The bearing in the back of the dryer was tricky but worked great. Keep track of all parts when you disassemble and assemble in reverse order. The foam was shot on the detergent cup lid. Hard as a rock. Causing caking problems, dribble down the inside wall of the door and leaving lumps of detergent. Cut the door in half wit aviation snips and pulled out the two halves. Discovered at this point that the spring had gone soft. Bought one ahead of time, so I was set. Put the spring on the left pin, put the spring pin in the door, slipped the door into place (open) and put the right pin in with pliers. Door snaps open now. Read more

Got my son to fix it for me. He had to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter to reach the remaining part of the door latch. He removed the spring mechanism and placed it onto the new replacement latch and replaced the single screw holding the latch onto the dishwasher. Took him about half an hour. It's good to have sons! Found the retaining clip on the parts list. Watched the videos to figure out how the upper arm attaches. Tried cleaning out the terribly clogged upper arm. Then looked at the lower wash arm--WOW! Talk about ugly clogs! Watched second video to see how that lower arm comes off. Got the lower arm off and realized all the gunk I was able to poke out of the holes would just come back, so replaced both spray arms. YES, the upper arm includes the retaining clip!!
