This microwave thermostat monitors the internal temperature and automatically shuts off the microwave when it reaches 105 degrees Celsius to prevent overheating. It protects your microwave from damage caused by excessive heat buildup. Replace this part if your microwave shuts off unexpectedly during normal operation or if it overheats frequently.
At first I thought it was the supply fuse. Multimeter proofed otherwise. Manufacture schematic outlined the most probable cause the cabinet flame sensor. I bypassed the thermostat fuse sure enough that was the problem. Read more
The door latch is opened by the lever switch, which sits on a plastic peg on the body latch - part AP3186330. This plastic peg had broken. Talking to the dealer, it sounds like a common problem. It's fairly simple to open the cabinet and remove the old part. The manual claims that the big capacitor has a self-discharging circuit, but it's best to briefly short it out with a resistor just to be sure.
