Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The oven heating element for my Maytag range had burnt out section.   Kathy W. • Washington , PA • January 22, 2022

I ordered the right part after finding the model # on the back of the stove. It took me longer because I'd never done it before. But if you can use a screwdriver and pull your stove out to unplug it. I think you can do it. Watching the video was helpful also. I also ordered a new oven rack because I didn't like the chemical smell of the old nonstick one. The box stores have cheaper ones that fit all replacements. But it is better to look for your model and serial numbers and get the right... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Crack glass stovetop   Sam G. • Fripp Island , SC • May 23, 2016

My wife and I watch a you tube video. The video gave us the know how and the courage to tackle the repair. We replaced the cooktop. The hardest part was moving the stove out from the counter since the floor was replaced after the stove was installed. I used the leg adjustments to raise the stove and some wood blocks to keep it high and move it out. Read more

Control Panel
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10206064

This is a Whirlpool range control panel assembly. It houses the display, user interface buttons, and has space for temperature control knobs. With extended use, the buttons on a control panel may wear out or stop responding to user input. Before installing this part, be sure to cut power to the appliance and allow it to cool completely. The stove may need to be pulled away from the wall to access the screws holding the old control panel in place. Remove the screws from each side of the old control panel to disconnect it, then carefully remove any boards or other components installed within the panel. Once it has been completely removed, the new control panel can be installed in its place. This is a genuine OEM part compatible with ranges manufactured by Jenn-Air, but may also work with other Whirlpool brands, including Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and others. This product is just the panel and contains no additional parts or hardware.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Touch Control Panel - half of the options did not work.   Jack C. • Sykesville , MD • March 27, 2014

The secret is to find the video on YouTube of how to install the part. It made a potentially complex job easy and affordable ! I replaced the touch control panel on the front of a Jenn Aire oven so I had to deal with the computer hook up, the burner knobs , and the panel lights. It took two people as the part is long and balky but after watching the video, it was a snap !!! Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Stove downdraft stopped working   Robert B. • Gaithersburg , MD • March 08, 2016

I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Wired it back, turned it on, and was thrilled. Now I'll replace the knobs and burners and we're back in business. Read more
