The previous tenant in my daughter's new apartment apparently had a grease fire of sorts in the GE XL44 gas oven. Took top apart to find out that the problem was just the lens for the light was broken. Come to find out that the lens is what holds the light in place. I lifted up the door and removed it. Next, I laid out newspaper on the floor. I placed the door on the newspaper upside down. With my socket driver, I removed the bottom door trim. I then used a pocket knife to remove the remaining glass in the top groove. I then slid in the new glass and reinstalled the trim.
