I removed all the individual burners so I could lift the stainless cover to expose the igniter wires. I cleaned all the wire connections and the 4 good igniters and replaced the one bad igniter. Move stove to unplug, remove rear center panel, indentify the two spade connectors that feed the heating element and remove (unplug) them. Remove two screws that hold the element to the inside rear wall of the stove and remove element. This small cooktop bracket secures designated components beneath the cooktop surface, keeping them properly positioned and stable. Replace a damaged or missing bracket to restore alignment and reduce movement or rattling during use.
This machine screw is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used in securing the burner head to the gas range top so that it can be used for cooking. If the burner head becomes loose or the screw is missing, it should be replaced. For safety reasons, the burner should not be used until this screw is replaced; the burner head could shift during cooking and lead to a fire. To start, disconnect the gas and power from the stove to prevent accidental ignition of the burner. Make sure the burners are not hot. Remove the burner grate and burner cap from the burner that is missing a screw. Install the new screw in the hole and tighten it with a screwdriver. Put the burner cap and burner grate back on the stove and reconnect the gas and power. Periodic inspection of the burner heads and all associated screws and parts on the stovetop will prevent accidents and keep the stove working correctly. Second repair after 10 years of service - igniter had cracked and spill overs were causing the others to misfire. This was a two-step process. I took apart the cooktop to see what parts were neded.
