It's a double wall oven and the lower oven thermostat failed. First was removal. Pulling the ovens was not too difficult thanks to using a motorcycle jack as a platform to slide the unit onto as well as have the ability to raise and lower it. Unwiring and rewiring the range and oven which shared an electrical box was the most difficult, as the box was located behind drawers in a kitchen cabinet. I replaced the cooling fan for the lower oven. This fan is located in the space between the top and bottom ovens. I also chose to replace both the BAKE and TCO thermostats. Read more
All of the information on the web repair sites said "replace the hinges as the springs are worn out." Didn't fix the problem. The top of the door still wouldn't seal, and the. Leaning latch wouldn't catch the door unless you pressed on the door. The inside panel of the door was fatigued. Too many turkeys were set on the door over the years.
