High-Voltage Diode (Microwave)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X1160

This high-voltage rectifier diode is used in the microwave's high-voltage circuit. It converts AC to DC so the magnetron can produce heat. A failed diode can cause no heat, loud humming, or a blown fuse when starting. What it does:

  • Rectifies high-voltage AC to DC to power the magnetron
  • Blocks reverse voltage in the HV circuit
  • Common failure symptoms can include: runs but doesn't heat; loud hum then shutdown; line fuse blows at startup
What's included:
  • 1 high-voltage diode
Install notes:
  • Unplug the microwave and properly discharge the high-voltage capacitor before servicing—dangerous voltage can remain even when unplugged
  • Match diode orientation/polarity to the original and ensure a solid chassis ground connection where used
  • Route leads and reinstall any clamps/insulators exactly as found; keep wiring clear of sharp edges and hot components
  • If the original diode failed, inspect the HV capacitor and transformer for related issues before reassembly

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No heat   Thomas S. • Port Jefferson Sta. , NY • August 23, 2015

I replaced both the Magnetron and the high voltage diode. I now have a fully functional microwave. I received the parts on time and the quality was good. I would use appliance parts pro's again. Read more

  • Helps maintain safe, even illumination of the range area
  • Common symptoms: broken or missing lens, dim or uneven light due to a damaged cover
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing
  • Allow bulbs and surrounding area to cool completely
  • Handle glass carefully to avoid chipping; wear cut-resistant gloves
  • Ensure the lens seats fully and any retaining tabs/screws are secured per the product's service instructions

Thermal Cut-Off (Bottom)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB21X10162

This thermal cut-off installs in the bottom location and protects the appliance by interrupting power when excessive heat is detected. It helps prevent overheating-related damage to internal components.

  • Monitors temperature at the bottom of the unit and opens the circuit if an over-temperature condition occurs
  • Common symptoms include no power, shutting off during use, or not starting after an overheating event
  • The TCO tests open (no continuity), it must be replaced
What's included: One thermal cut-off for the bottom position. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; microwaves contain a high-voltage capacitor that must be safely discharged
  • Note wire positions and mounting orientation; transfer any reusable bracket/insulator and make secure, insulated connections
  • After reassembly, ensure airflow and vents are unobstructed to prevent repeat overheating

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bottom tco right before the little fuse blew   Dennis M. • Carpentersville , IL • February 22, 2015

Synchronous Motor (Microwave)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB26X10226

This AC synchronous motor powers the microwave's rotating mechanism—such as the mode stirrer or, on some models, the turntable—to circulate energy for more even cooking. Replacing a noisy, seized, or non-turning motor restores smooth rotation and consistent heating.

  • Provides steady, low-speed rotation to drive the internal stirrer or turntable
  • Promotes more uniform heating by distributing microwave energy
  • Common symptoms of a failing motor: uneven heating, rattling/grinding from the cabinet, or the rotating component not turning
  • Direct replacement for the original synchronous drive motor
What's included: 1 synchronous motor Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; microwaves contain high-voltage components that can retain a charge
  • Access and location vary by model; remove the outer cover/grille to reach the motor
  • Note shaft orientation and transfer any coupler; reuse existing mounting hardware
  • Do not operate the unit with covers removed; after reassembly, test with a microwave-safe cup of water

Fuse
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X25389

The Fuse is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It serves as a safety device that protects the microwave by breaking the circuit if there is a power surge or electrical fault. This helps prevent damage to the microwave's components and ensures safe operation.

You should replace the fuse if it becomes blown or damaged. Causes of a bad fuse can include power surges, electrical faults, or issues within the microwave such as overheating. These factors can cause the fuse to blow, rendering the microwave inoperable.

Symptoms of a bad fuse include:

  • The microwave not turning on or suddenly losing power
  • No response from the microwave’s control panel
  • The microwave stopping mid-cycle without completing the cooking process

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Turntable did not turn on our ge under the cabinet microwave   Cory S. • Rochester , MN • July 03, 2016

Unplug your microwave. Took the screws off of the bottom of the unit with it still on the cabinet. The whole bottom panel swung down to expose the turntable motor. I took the power cable loose (just pull it off). It was one screw to take the motor out. Word to the wise: DON'T try to take the plastic coupler off before the motor. Their is a tab that holds it in while the motor is in place. If you pry it up you will break it, trust me. ;) Turn the motor out of its housing and it come right out.... Read more

  • Opens with the vent fan to let cooking smoke and steam exit the home.
  • Closes when the fan is off to reduce backdrafts, outside air, and odors.
  • A faulty or stuck damper can cause reduced airflow, rattling noises, or air blowing back into the kitchen.
  • Works as the moving flap between the appliance exhaust and the ductwork to control airflow direction.
What's included: One hood damper assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance (unplug or shut off the circuit breaker) before servicing.
  • Access typically requires removing the hood or microwave grille/cover; keep track of screws and mounting hardware.
  • Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, possibly a nut driver) are usually sufficient; handle the damper flap gently to avoid bending.
  • After installation, restore power and run the fan to ensure the damper opens and closes smoothly.
