Washer won't stop spinning smoothly or makes loud jerking noise when stopping? The brake shoe stops the tub during spin cycles. DIY repair in 1-2 hours.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No spin every thing else worked made high speed ticking noise   Anthony D. • Follansbee , WV • May 12, 2015

First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. I think that brake lockup or improper brake release was the problem that broke the plastic cam driver. This was the broken plastic part making all the ticking noise. I first changed the coupling on the motor but that wasn't bad. in... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Drain hose too short and home depot fix leaked   Sara B. • Liberty Hill , TX • August 21, 2015

Ordered a new drain hose and extension part. The prices including shipping were more reasonable than driving back and forth to the store just to piece meal parts together. Very frustrating. I ordered the parts that were specific to our washing machine, it took maybe 5 minutes to install, and everything fit perfectly. Now we're washing again and no leaks! Read more

My signal switch was defective; upon replacement dryer now works fine. The part costs were 45 dollars and time to replace was about 30 min. I then removed the top control panel like last time, tilted the body forward and set it aside. I unfastened the upper hose to the water pump and slid what was left of the old shield out and slid the new replacement shield back into place then reattached the flex hose.
