I knew for sure that the hinge with the large spring was damaged, but elected to replace both hinges and receivers. Replacing the parts was fairly easy and would have taken me less then an hour. This model has thin metal covers over the hinge assemblies. I found that squeezing in the sides of the covers help to hold them in place on the hinge while reassembling the door. This is the upper heating element located at the top of the oven cavity that provides high, direct heat for broiling. It glows red-hot to sear and brown food placed on the top rack.
