Whirlpool W10647259 Hinge Receiver (Door) OEM Part

I knew for sure that the hinge with the large spring was damaged, but elected to replace both hinges and receivers. Replacing the parts was fairly easy and would have taken me less then an hour. This model has thin metal covers over the hinge assemblies. I found that squeezing in the sides of the covers help to hold them in place on the hinge while reassembling the door. My only difficulty was putting the door back on the oven. It took a little maneuvering but I managed to get it. Now the door not only closes completely, but it opens more smoothly then before. Purchased replacement parts. Began taking oven door apart to get at the hinges. Unfortunately the door is held together with magic. Once you remove a few of the screws everything just falls apart. It seems that pressure and the very tight tolerances make the door very sturdy but once you start removing pieces the integrity of the door just goes away. Putting it back together was very challenging. But my wife and I were able to get it accomplished. Not an easy task to say the least.

Replaced the hinge receiver with a new one. The old one was bent slightly inside where it could not be seen. I think someone pushed the door down to far or fell on it. 2 screws to remove it, take out storage drawer and reach up little ways to remove and replace the receiver. Replace the 2 screws. The receiver comes with 2 screws but I ordered an extra ( never used it ). The sides of the receiver were spread just a tiny bit but were enough to cause a problem.

Removed door from range, disassembled to access broken hinge, replaced with new hinge, reassembled the door, reattached to range.
