This is a combined touchpad and control panel assembly in black that mounts on the front of the dishwasher door. It houses the buttons used to select wash cycles, options, and start/cancel functions, and it communicates your selections to the main electronic control board. I ordered a new Panel-Control. The old one was removed easily by taking out six screws. The old panel lifted, then tilted out. The electronic circuit board was disconnected and attached to the new panel. My new panel did not want to fit in properly at first. Given the location and number of connections that had to be switched out and since I had to disconnect the electrical to install the new harness, I decided it would be easier to just pull the unit out and tilt it over so I could see what I was doing.
