This tub ring mounts to the top of the washer's outer tub to act as a splash guard and cover. Replacing a cracked or loose ring helps contain wash water and helps prevent leaks or debris from the top. What it does:
This was the second attempt at fixing this problem. The first repair and parts were generated by listing the problem and reviewing the potential corrections, listed on the web site. From making repairs on other clothes washers, I was confident that some of those potential causes could have been the cause. Unfortunately the counterbalance spring and suspension springs were not the cause as they were attached as intended and in good condition. I reached out for Appliance Parts Pros input... Read more
This retainer ring is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on front load washing machines to hold the boot seal in place. The boot seal is the gasket that seals the washing machine when the door is closed to prevent water from leaking. The retainer ring is located flush against the boot seal and has either a spring clamp or screw clamp that secures it. Over time, this ring may become damaged due to the washing machine's normal use and age. If the ring is not tight, the washing machine could leak when in use. If water is coming from the door, it is a good idea to inspect and replace the retainer ring and possibly the boot as well.Unplug the washing machine to prevent electrocution. Remove the front panel, the detergent dispenser, and the kickplate to access the retainer ring. Locate the clamp on the ring and loosen it. Remove the retainer ring and set it to the side. Inspect the boot and then install the new retainer ring. Tighten the clamp and reassemble the washing machine. This retainer ring is sold as an individual unit. It is designed specifically for washing machines manufactured by Whirlpool.
Im not a repairman, so all my knowledge to fix my washer came from either youtube or online chats. I posted this to help the next dad trying to save a few bucks. Door sensor... This is a washing machine timer. This part controls the electrical components and the duration of the unit's cycles. If the washing machine unit will not run through the drain or spin cycles, it is possible that the timer has gone bad and will need to be replaced. Some users report the washing machine running through the washing cycle fine until it is time to drain or spin. The replacement steps are fairly easy and can be done quickly. Be sure to unplug the washing machine from its power source before starting the replacement process. Some people may wish to wear work gloves during this process to protect their hands from scratches or other injuries. This specific timer is compatible with washing machines that are manufactured by the Whirlpool brand. It is sourced right from the manufacturer as a high-quality and durable part. It is sold individually.
I replaced the timer, and the problem was solved. The only problem I had was the screw holes in the new timer would not accept the screws from the old timer, so I used self tapping screws. Otherwise, a straightforward fix and fairly easy to do. Read more

This agitator drive shaft sits inside the washer's gearcase and transfers motion to the agitator. Replacing a worn or stripped shaft restores firm engagement and reliable wash action while helping reduce slip and grinding during agitation.
I had to replace the drive shaft and the lower agitator. The motor coupling was also worn out. The repair was challenging because I had to rebuild the gear box. This step was really messy and I had to wait for the liquid gasket to set prior to completing the repair. Cleaning and prep of all of the parts tripled the repair time. Read more
Used for lid switch.
Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more
