Small drive gear inside the washer transmission gearcase that meshes with mating gears. Replace when worn, stripped, or damaged to restore power transfer.
American appliances are very easy to fix in comparison to imported ones. Just open the washer and take de transmission cover out change the pinion inside removing a simple retainer. In the agitator there is a screw that you loosen it take it out, then de tub and take the shaft out and put a new seal and a new c clamp and reinstall everything back. Top-loading washers are very easy to fix in comparison to front-loading washers that are very difficult to fix. Read more
This is a rubber gasket that sits inside the water inlet hose connection on your washing machine. It creates a watertight seal between the hose fitting and the water supply valve to prevent leaks. Replace this gasket if you notice water dripping from the hose connections at the back of the washer.

Not one to patch a job, I ordered all seal kit, bearing kit, new shaft keeper, transmission oil, spanner wrench. I have the newer version of the agitator shaft so it does not have the groove for the internal clip. I Custom ground a thick washer so that as the agitator shaft goes into the transmission it fit flush into the slot for the old style shaft clip. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat. The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I had to take the cover off of the transmission to see how the shaft was held in place. After discovering there is a plastic clip that holds the shaft in place i ordered the parts. replaced the shaft and the put the new plastic clip in place, made my own gasket and then put the transmission cover back on. easy fix and saved a lot of money. This was a very easy fix. Two screws to get the front off of the washer. Removed one side of the tensioner spring. Loosened two screws for the motor and two screws for the pump. I decided to replace the agitate belt even though it wasn't broken.. So, I removed that belt from the pulleys and the removed the broken belt. then just reversed the process to install the belts. it toke me less than 30 minutes and my washer was back in service.
