The Dishwasher Micro Switch is an OEM part for LG dishwashers. It plays a crucial role in detecting the door's position, ensuring the dishwasher only operates when the door is securely closed. This switch helps maintain safety and proper functioning during the wash cycle.
Causes of a bad micro switch can include wear and tear from regular use, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage. A compromised micro switch can prevent the dishwasher from starting or stopping correctly.
Symptoms of a bad dishwasher micro switch include:
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.
This was a very simple repair. It was done in about an hour. It involves disconnecting the dishwasher, emptying the water from the inside, taking it out and flipping it over, and replacing the diverter motor. This repair is done on the underside of the dishwasher, nothing to disconnect inside (just remember to remove the baskets). It would be wise to order the motor seal and micro switch that goes with it as they are all cheap parts and easy to swap out during the procedure. Be sure to take... Read more
Fix incomplete draining and pulsing sounds during drain cycles. This dishwasher check valve prevents backflow. Easy 30-minute DIY repair.
First determined drain discharge hose was clear. Turned of power to dishwasher. I did not find it necessary to remove the dishwasher. I simply removed the lower service panel at the floor and was able to easily remove the defective pump, unplug it, replace the small rubber check valve flapper before the pump inlet and reinstall the new pump assembly. The dishwasher surprisingly cleans and runs quietly like new again although I found no excuse for the pump failure as it is well designed. Never... Read more
Dispenser not opening or leaking rinse aid down the door? This assembly restores proper detergent release. Most DIYers complete installation in 30-60 minutes.
I ordered a new vario motor and a soap dispenser. I turned off the water and the breaker, disconnected the water line and the power at the front base of the unit, disconnected the drain hose from the garbage dispenser, and pulled out the dishwasher and laid it on a blanket on its face. I unscrewed and removed the plainly visible vario motor on the bottom of the machine and removed the cam from the shaft. I then used a needle nose plier to carefully turn the D-shaft on the new motor to exactly... Read more
Replace your dishwasher's upper spray arm if cracked, broken, or clogged beyond cleaning. Installs in the top of the tub to spray water on the upper rack.
I replaced the upper nozzle guide, nozzle shaft and upper spray arm. I also replaced the pump gasket for good measure. Top rack dishes had not been cleaning properly. I first removed the filter assembly to inspect the main pump from above. It was clogged but after cleaning and reassembly I observed that while middle and bottom spray arms were changing position, the upper spray arm was not. I confirmed that water was flowing through the upper spray arm by placing some empty yogurt pots on a... Read more
Pivot shaft that supports and allows the upper spray arm to rotate in your dishwasher. Replace if broken, cracked, or worn to restore proper arm movement.
This is a plastic bracket that holds the roller wheel on the dishwasher dish rack, allowing the rack to slide in and out smoothly on its track. It mounts to the side of the upper or lower rack and secures the roller in place. Replace this bracket if it is cracked or broken, causing the dish rack to tilt, jam, or not roll properly on its rails.

This mounting bracket kit secures your dishwasher to the countertop from above, preventing it from tipping forward when the door is opened. It replaces worn or missing brackets that allow the dishwasher to move or become unstable during operation.
I ordered new brackets to replace the broken ones. With the new brackets the instructions also showed me how I could also secure the dishwasher to the counter from each side. I replaced the brackets and secured the dishwasher to each side of the cabinets. The dishwasher is more secure now then ever. Read more
Replace a cracked, broken, or clogged dishwasher spray arm nozzle assembly. Installs inside the tub to direct wash water through jets for coverage.
Fixes noisy wash cycles and dishes that won't come clean. This motor drives water through spray arms. DIY install takes 90 minutes with basic tools.
I diagnosed the noisy motor by removing the dishwasher from its cubby hole and reconnecting the plumbing and electrical lines. We next did a cycle and I felt the motors during the noisy time. This did not work out due to the overall vibration of the unit. I next waited for the noise again and unplugged some electrical connections. Nailed It. I traced the wires back to one motor, and was able to locate it on the parts diagram. Two days later the new part was in my hands. It took about 90 minutes... Read more
Small sleeve bushing that supports pivoting or rotating joints in your dishwasher. Replace when worn, cracked, or causing excess friction between moving parts.
Thanks to LG NOT sending the parts THEY say are included with the dishwasher, I had to buy them in order to install the appliance. I sure hope the LG appliance performs better than their customer service. Very simple fix....bought the EXACT items needed from AppliancePartsPros.com and in just a matter of two days, had the parts needed. Amazing! Excellent experience. The fix was attaching the brackets to the cabinet and screwing it to the countertop. Also just popping the screw covers... Read more
Loud droning noise during cycles? A cracked pump casing causes leaks and poor water flow. Moderate DIY repair requires dishwasher removal and reinstall.
I suspected the 'circulation pump' to be the culprit. I could not find a 'circulation pump' so I deduced via the picture schematics it must be the 'casing assembly, pump' I found on the website. I have heard there have been issues with the 'drain pump' so I also ordered the 'case assembly' on this site which is an odd name for the drain pump. Boxes came with just the part inside no instructions or other info. This was fine as I have been diy repairing things my entire life. I made sure... Read more
