Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lower freezer door would not stay shut turns out a shaft with gears was missing from initial install   Bruce M. • New River , AZ • August 08, 2016

Ordered the parts, which was a pair of ice gears and the bar that connects them. Had to refer to upper freezer drawer to figure out how the gears fit into the rails. Turns out they snap into a plastic hub that is riveted on the rail. Took some effort to finally get them to snap on. At first it seemed like they would not fit. Really had to apply force to get them to go on. Then added bar, which seems to me to be slightly short in length. It works, but I think if any tension is put on it,... Read more

Refrigerator Door Gasket Assembly - Right Side Door
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 4987JJ2002S

This is refrigerators door gasket assembly that is used on the right-side door of a french style refrigerator. The gasket assembly is what seals the door to the appliance so that air does not leak into the unit or out of the unit, which helps the appliance maintain a specific temperature.A new refrigerator door gasket assembly will be needed if the gasket is cracked, broken, or damaged in any way. Some refrigerators may begin the beeping alarm that alerts the user that the door is not closed, when in fact, it's just the gasket that has gone bad. The refrigerator door gasket assembly may need to be replaced after normal use over time. This is a genuine LG part and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. This particular refrigerator door gasket assembly is compatible with refrigerators that are manufactured by LG.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigerator/freezer stopped cooling and the beeping alarm that indicates a door is not closed all the way was beeping   Carla P. • Keller , TX • July 14, 2015

The alarm beeped for two days before I figured out that the light switch in the freezer was the problem. The light bulb- I thought - had burned out a long time ago, but it was actually frozen to where the light just would not come on. Apparently the freezer door had been left open long enough to thaw out the switch and now the light was working. Problem was that now it wasn't turning off even when the door closed. This was telling the unit that the door was open, hence the continuous... Read more
