During inspection I found that the compressor start capacitor was burned and it burned one of the wires off. We have a lot of power outages in our area and my guess is a power surge caused the capacitor to fail. I replaced the capacitor and the unit now cools. The capacitor is difficult to get to. I had to disassemble most of the air conditioner to access it. Read more
