Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. This is a small tube of silicone-based gasket sealer used to bond and seal gaskets during washer repairs. It creates a watertight seal between mating surfaces to prevent leaks around tub components or pump housings.
