Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud clicking from the back of my refrigerator   Randy W. • Granbury , TX • March 04, 2015

Research question lead to others that had the same issue. Consensus lead to a common repair. Compressor overload switch going bad. After ordering the correct parts, I changed out both the switch and the motor start capacitor just in case. After cleaning the equipment, I then put everything back together. Results were, clicking gone, seems to be quieter operation because of cleaning, more efficient cooling and nerves calmed. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The flap that closes over the ice chute wasn’t closing completely. The warm air is drawn into the chute creating frost.   Robert C. • Springfield , VA • September 25, 2022

I watched the video attached to the part schematic for the three parts that work the chute - there is a small motor/actuator and the flap itself (which includes the spring, so really didn’t need to order the spring additionally). The hardest part was getting the cover off - I put tape all around the outside of the edge on the refrigerator to avoid scratching it and then used pry tools I have for automotive repairs (pulling off trim and panels) and was able to get it out without a problem.... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice shot door fell apart would not dispense ice.   Marshall B. • Burlington , NJ • December 09, 2017

Replaced ice shot door. Because the original ice funnel was glued in by the manufacturer, it could not be removed without breaking, resulted in replacement of the ice funnel and dispenser assembly. Unfortunately the dispenser was damaged when I received it. This wouldn’t have happened if packaged from the supplier in a box instead of a bubble rap envelope. Fortunately i was able to repair (glued together). The drip tray was not the correct part hopefully I can return and exchange. However I... Read more

Removed the old fan housing. Removed the fan from its housing and took the fan blade off. I then smelled the fan and it smelt of burnt insulation. I ordered a new fan and re-assembled in reverse order. Fan started up when compressor fired up. Fan was a plug & play item. Erroe Code cleared on the front and refrig is working fine. Only thing was the fan was not identical with the old one. It fit in the enclosure the same and the shaft was the same length. My old fan was 10 years old and they... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The tray/cube crusher had a broken plastic assembly   Gerald N. • Leominster , MA • June 12, 2015

I ordered a replacement. I can't believe that I received it the next day! I was hoping for a reasonable delivery time. With some companies, you click the order button and then wonder how long it will take to process. I received my answer not in days, but in just a couple of hours. Excellent service. Water Filter Bypass
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: ABN75058701

The Water Filter Bypass is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It provides a way to bypass the installed water filter and allows the water line to pass directly to the ice maker and water dispenser.

Causes of a bad water filter bypass can include mineral or sediment buildup restricting water flow, cracks or leaks in the plastic components, or damage to the bypass valve.

Symptoms of a bad water filter bypass include:

  • Slow or declining water pressure at the dispenser
  • Sediment or particles in the water
  • Inability to bypass a clogged water filter
  • Leaks in the water line connections

Replacing the water filter bypass restores optimal water flow and allows the filter to be changed out easily. This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.
