Fix a stuck or non-working ice/water dispenser with this micro switch. Common cause of dispensers running continuously or not activating. Easy DIY repair.
After my layman's diagnosis (hope) of a bad micro switch to the ice dispenser (would not activate and dispense ice through the chute) I purchased the both the ice and water dispenser micro switches (kill two birds with one stone). Albeit the video attached to these parts may be helpful to some it was not applicable to my refrigerator, as you could not access it from the front by removing the exterior dispenser plate. Don't try this on the LG, LFX25991ST series, refrigerator or you may break it... Read more
Reduces contaminants and odors from your refrigerator's water and ice supply. Replace every 6 months for optimal performance. Verify fit by model number.
I have replaced the LG water filter myself for the past 10 years. This time I inserted the filter, did not feel the thread was engaged, I turned the filter clockwise and no water came through the filter. So I figured that the filter head might be bad. I checked with YouTube and learned that to replace the filter head one just have to remove the housing or head, remove the water inline and outline and put it back. I used Google to search "LG water filter housing" (I did not know yet it was... Read more

First, water and electricity don't mix, so make sure to unplug your refrigerator before beginning this repair - it shouldn't take more than an hour, so you shouldn't have to worry about spoilage. My water dispenser began making a hissing sound from the back of the fridge when you pressed the dispenser. Upon inspection, I discovered the 1/4" feed line into the filter housing assembly had cracked. I ordered the 1/4" feed and 5/16" return lines, figuring to replace the return line while I was back... No water from dispenser or ice maker? This water inlet valve controls flow to both. DIY-friendly repair—takes about 15 minutes with basic tools.
I viewed the self help video on You Tube and checked the water pressure first. Once the water pressure was determined to be fine I ordered a new water inlet valve as recommended from the video. LG supplier did not have the recommended part and after checking on-line I found Appliance Parts Pros had just what I needed. The video from Appliance Plus Pros showed step by step on how to replace the water inlet valve. It took me approximately 15 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one.... Read more

The left hinge works on the right side as well as the left. All you have to do is unscrew the little plastic post and move it to the other hole. The old filter head was broken at the supply line side connector fell out. The clicking noise eventually caused the fridge to warm up and stop cooling. The clicking was the overload relay tripping. The Start solenoid on the compressor was an Embarco TSD part 513604044. APP does not have that part nor does any else found a similar one on ebay but I ordered the PTC assembly 6749C-0014E. I removed the overload relay and capacitor from the TSD used two pieces of wire and connectors to create the... Read more
