I ordered a door/lid switch kit and an actuator and replaced them both. I probably didn't need the actuator, but it probably didn't hurt to replace it. The only issue I had was that the switch didn't seem to fit that well when installed on it's own, along with the actuator. The repair sounds easy, doesn't it? It would have been, except that I actually had to do laundry while waiting for the part to arrive. So, I was using a pair of channel locks to turn the exposed bolt/post sticking out in order to turn the washing machine on. In doing so, I actually crushed part of the thread on the bolt, so the starter knob wouldn't screw on! In order to screw on the new starter knob, I had to buy a special nut which rethreaded the bolt. I'd replaced the motor that I purchased here about a month ago. It worked fine for a few weeks, then it just stopped and wouldn't start.
