This 12-14 x 1/2 screw is a factory fastener used to secure appliance panels, brackets, and components. Replacing a missing or stripped screw restores a tight fit, reduces rattling, and keeps parts properly aligned for reliable operation.
This was a very easy fix. Two screws to get the front off of the washer. Removed one side of the tensioner spring. Loosened two screws for the motor and two screws for the pump. I decided to replace the agitate belt even though it wasn't broken.. So, I removed that belt from the pulleys and the removed the broken belt. then just reversed the process to install the belts. it toke me less than 30 minutes and my washer was back in service. Here's the story. All my appliances except the dryer broke. Yeah. talk about bad luck. First I tried to fix the refrigerator. Replaced both motherboard and inverter board. I suspected the main bearing had worn out, and I was right. It is a difficult job, because I am retired, I had the time.
