Repair on replacing tub bearings went well . I removed front and door ,removed basket and belt pulley. used big hammer to hit the support from outer tub,cleaned and installed both bearings using a tool that I made.. Reinstalled all the parts that I removed and tested washer everything is working perfect very quite now. Read more

This genuine replacement screw secures the baffle in place to keep internal components aligned and reduce rattling or movement. It restores proper fit and helps maintain normal operation and water flow direction. What it does:
Ordered new baffle and the proper screws with help from appliance parts pros. Took washer apart. Removed soap dispenser cover, washer door, front, lifted top lid, removed seal to be able to access area to get screws in and tightened with a wrench. This part wasn't the easiest as there wasn't much room for my hand(s) to fit in, but just took my time and got it done. Read more
Did not know if these were the right parts. I believe i talked to someone named Robin and she was very helpful and friendly. Said she wasn't sure these were the parts since they were not listed on my model number but said if they didn't work i could send them back. been to many parts stores and nobody could find these two items or even suggest them. I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. So when the bearings started to get loud I thought it best to replace them, the seal kit and the belt. I did my research as best I could and decided to order the OEM parts from an appliance supplier. Once we found the hidden 'Troubleshooting Guide' in the control panel, we were able to run a diagnostic check on it. A voltmeter was VERY helpful, and after running through the steps, found that the "inertial unbalance switch" was bad. It was easy to get to by removing the door, front panel, and then lifting the top off...it is attached to the top of the tub. One screw needed removed from the switch, and then I slid the old one off and the new on! *I must say, it took longer to figure out... Read more
Basically rebuilt the washer from the ground up. Spent more money than a new washer but we have been so happy with the way this machine has worked over the last 19 years figured it would be money well spent. Read more
