Melissa D Sullivan , IN March 15, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH5500BWQ Washer would not spin out clothes at final cycle Once we found the hidden 'Troubleshooting Guide' in the control panel, we were able to run a diagnostic check on it. A voltmeter was VERY helpful, and after running through the steps, found that the "inertial unbalance switch" was bad. It was easy to get to by removing the door, front panel, and then lifting the top off...it is attached to the top of the tub. One screw needed removed from the switch, and then I slid the old one off and the new on! *I must say, it took longer to figure out exactly what the problem was than it did to fix it! Your company also got the part to me MUCH faster than I had anticipated! Luis P Bergenfield , NJ January 10, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH6500AWW Would not go into spin cycle The front bearing was no good. when the machine would try to spin it was off balance, so being a smart washer it would shut itself down. since i had to replace the bearing i decided to do preventive maintenance by replacing the lip seal and rear bearing. the unbalance switch was added in as well. My washing machine works like New. Saved a lot of money by doing it my self. thank you for your how to video and parts. Neil R Delaplane , VA October 25, 2015 My maytag neptune would not spin fast enough to remove the water from washed clothes I found the trouble shooting guide and. It suggested a possible fix might be to replace the internal balance switch. This made sense so I ordered one online form your website. The part came in when promised, I installed it, bypassed the door lock switch and watched as the drum took off like a rocket! Very pleased with the part and service from your company. More important, the wife is VERY happy! Thank you. Read More... 15 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers
Guillermo S Chicago , IL March 06, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH4000AWW Neptune mah4000 had a no spin but did pump water out but not all of it I had the problem couple years ago I bypassed unbalance switch it worked fine for a couple years and had the same problem again so ruled out unbalanced switch. Door lock light on and checked made sure wax motor pushed out all the way too the second switch for spin check OK, so took a chance on displacement switch x2. My family loves to over load it and also replaced by passed unbalance switch and boom every thing went back to normal. Its also good to clean every thing when apart.
