Timer
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP22002715

This is a washing machine timer. This component controls the appliance's electrical components and how long each cycle will run. A washer with a broken timer may skip cycles or not run at all. Unplugging the appliance before trying to replace this part is important. The replacement process is very easy and only takes about five minutes to complete. A screwdriver is needed to perform this replacement process. This timer is compatible with washing machines that are manufactured by Maytag and Whirlpool. It is sold individually. This part comes directly from the manufacturer and is made out of high-quality and durable materials.

I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. After I struggled to get it apart The repair went very easy, I used brake spring pliers to remove the springs it worked like a charm. I am very pleased with... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Washer squeaked when tub is stopped during spin cycle   Daniel K. • Grafton , WI • July 22, 2018

My Maytag washer make a loud screech when the washer tub needed to be stopped by the brake. Last year, I had replaced the suspension springs, the snubber ring, the drive belt and the drain pump. Those repairs worked fine, but a few weeks later, the screeching noise started. So I figured it was the brake system. I thought it would be better to replace the brake rotor and stator together as a set since I was going to disassemble both and they were 18 years old anyway. I decided to replace the... Read more
