Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bearings were worn out makeing a lot of noise   Lawrence L. • Largo , FL • August 08, 2015

I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. After I struggled to get it apart The repair went very easy, I used brake spring pliers to remove the springs it worked like a charm. I am very pleased with... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer heated but clothes weren't completely dry   Sherman M. • Little Rock , AR • November 05, 2015

After checking all the common reasons (vent, element, fuses, temp sensors, etc.), the only thing left was the Dryness Monitor. The "LESS" light came on, but the ""HIGH" light didn't. Removed the 5 screws on the rear cover, disconnected the 4 wire & single wire plugs and the unit just snaps out. Since my dryer is Almond colored and the part was for a White dryer, I took the one screw out holding the board and transferred it to the original housing. Reconnected the 4 wire & single wire plugs and... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Washer squeaked when tub is stopped during spin cycle   Daniel K. • Grafton , WI • July 22, 2018

My Maytag washer make a loud screech when the washer tub needed to be stopped by the brake. Last year, I had replaced the suspension springs, the snubber ring, the drive belt and the drain pump. Those repairs worked fine, but a few weeks later, the screeching noise started. So I figured it was the brake system. I thought it would be better to replace the brake rotor and stator together as a set since I was going to disassemble both and they were 18 years old anyway. I decided to replace the... Read more
