Soap or rinse aid dispenser not opening? This wax motor actuates the dispenser door release. DIYers report 15-30 minute repairs with basic tools.
I found the videos on dishwasher repair that AppliancePartsPros offers and determined the likely cause of the problem. I removed the door cover and found soap caked on the back. I cleaned the cover and switched the wax motors to see if the clean rinse motor was good and ran a tested cycle. No improvement. I ordered two new wax motors for the Maytag dishwasher and those arrived in a few days from AppliancePartsPros. I replaced the old motors and ran a test cycle. The soap tray opened correctly.... I first installed the inlet pump with no results. I then ordered a Control Switch and Float and Nut. This fixed the problem. Everything comes out so clean. I also replaced the filter which allowed me to clean debris around old filter. It is also easier to replace all these parts with the dishwasher pulled out and tilted on its side. I had to pull mine out to unplug power to the dishwasher. Read more
Replacement tub wheel assembly for dishwasher upper rack track. Installs on inner tub to support rack gliding. Needed when wheel is cracked or broken.
I got the new hose with connection at faucet in only 2 days after ordering. After taking the top and sides off if the dishwasher it only took 10 minutes to replace the hose. It actually took longer to disassemble and reassemble the top and sides but even that was easy. 45 minutes total. Just use your cell phone to take a picture of how the old hose is routed before installing the new one and have 2 small zip ties to keep loose wires away from hose. Read more
This is the longer of the two dispenser lid hinge pins. For the shorter lid hinge pin order WPY912679.
The foam was shot on the detergent cup lid. Hard as a rock. Causing caking problems, dribble down the inside wall of the door and leaving lumps of detergent. Cut the door in half wit aviation snips and pulled out the two halves. Discovered at this point that the spring had gone soft. Bought one ahead of time, so I was set. Put the spring on the left pin, put the spring pin in the door, slipped the door into place (open) and put the right pin in with pliers. Door snaps open now. Read more

Fix weak spray or poor cleaning caused by a cracked impeller. Simple 15-minute repair with basic tools. Restores water circulation and pressure.
The initial problem was just a simple blockage on the filter screen...until I dropped a screw. So, I had to take the rest of the insides apart to retrieve it. The original impeller would not come off easily, so I tried to pry it off. Naturally, that caused the threaded portion to break. The new impeller went on much more easily than the old one came off, and the dishwasher is back in action. Simple repair; there's really not much to the inside of this thing. Read more

Creates a leak-resistant seal between pump components and connections. Replace when you notice water leaking during drain cycles or around fittings.
I first wanted to get the dishwasher running, before ordering the spring links. So I disassembled the pump / motor assembly to determine the reason the motor would not start. My wife cleaned all of the parts in the pump assembly. I took the motor apart and discovered that the lower bearing ( a sleeve type bearing) was dry and dirty, and was the culprit for the motor seizing. I cleaned up the bearing and lubricated it with SAE 20W. I also packed felt inside the cavity adjacent to the bearing.... Read more
